PAO Severstal announces the publication of its Sustainability Report 2021 on the Company’s website.
The decision to publish the fourteenth report demonstrates Severstal’s commitment to ESG practices and proves the Company’s stability in the current environment. The Company values transparent engagement with all stakeholders and firmly believes that sustainable development is the result of common effort and cooperation.
The report has been prepared in accordance with Global Reporting Initiatives Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Standards, and is aligned with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), World Economic Forum recommendations and ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standards core subjects. The Sustainability Report underwent public assurance by the RSPP Council for Non-Financial Reporting and has been independently assured by Deloitte (key performance data including FA and LTIFR (employees and contractors), pollutants, emissions and GHG emissions).
The Report describes the Company's key activities and achievements in 2021 and its economic, social and environmental impact in compliance with the principles of the UN Global Compact, as well as the Company's contribution to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and implementing the National Priority Projects of Russia. This year, the Company expanded the reporting boundaries of certain indicators in addition to increasing the scope of the stakeholder survey to identify material topics. The Report discloses data on other indirect GHG emissions (Scope 3) in dynamics for the first time. The Climate Impact section has been disclosed in accordance with TCFD guidelines, and a Stakeholder Capitalism Core Metrics (WEF ESG Metrics) table has been published for the first time.
