Our initiatives in this area are governed by the Environmental Protection Policy of Severstal and Affiliates (2018).
We strive to prevent and minimise our environmental footprint, improve wastewater quality and monitor biodiversity, while ensuring balance between our financial objectives, environmental and social responsibility.
Severstal is committed to compliance with the requirements of Russian environmental law and international environmental standards to their fullest extent.
Nine Severstal facilities, employing a total of roughly 93% of our workforce, are certified to ISO 14001:2015.
Independent external audits conducted at certified facilities in 2023 confirmed full compliance with the requirements of the international standard. In particular, a recertification audit of Severstal’s EMS was successfully completed in the reporting year.
